This summer was our first trip to Tennessee and we didn't notice any garbage, though we weren't looking for any either. I fell in love with the state and smile now every time I see a TN plate or hear its name. Can't wait to go back next year !!

We were in Pigeon Forge the beginning of August and the weather was perfect. Unfortunately, our TT was back home and we stayed in a motel, but the kids and I really enjoyed riding the Trolley through the campgrounds, River Edge being one of them, and a nice CG at that. We experienced total RV park envy and had a lot of laughs, then topped it off at Dollywood's Splash Country. Can't wait to go back next year !! Oh, and the drive there & back on I-40 from Asheville was half the fun -- absolutely breathtaking.

I just purchased two from Fortunoff's Outdoor Store for $39.99 each, which I thought was a steal, and they are extremely comfortable. I got a blue and a yellow one, both neon colors, which reminds me of being at the beach while I'm in the woods.

Need Advice on Upgrading
I have a 2008 Travel-Trailer that I just purchased in January. I am thinking of trading for a Fifth-Wheel but know nothing about their depreciation. Am I better off waiting a few years? Do they depreciate a lot after you tow them off the lot?
The main reason for trading up is we feel it would be safer towing a Fifth Wheel than a TT. We have a full-size Ford pickup truck. Is there a big difference towing a Fifth as opposed to a TT?

Although I've never been there, I've heard it's very nice and it seems to be very popular. We tried making reservations last minute a couple of years back and they were booked solid. I think they have a lot of activities there. Good luck !

New Jersey Shore Region Campgrounds
Hello There,
We are looking to seasonal camp next year down at the Jersey shore, anywhere from GSP Exit 98 and south. We'd prefer a place with a swimming lake and a pool that is no more than 15 minutes from the beach. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !

The air conditioner was running (first time we've used it); then the breaker tripped in the middle of the night and the a/c went off.
The 15-amp breaker also shut off the microwave & kitchen GFGI outlet.
I then plugged in the toaster to the Kitchen GFGI and the same 15 amp breaker tripped, which also shut off the microwave again.
I turned off the a/c unit and put it on again, and it tripped the same breaker in a matter of minutes.
I don't know if I've explained this well. I'm reading from my husband's chicken scratch notes, but he has some knowledge of electrical wiring, and in speaking to the tech from the dealership, they both think something may be miswired.

Jayco Electrical Problem
I have a brand new 2008 Jayco TT and am having electrical problems with it. The dealer resolved it the first time out, or so we thought, but the problem still persists. We think there may be something wired wrong.
Anyway, I called Jayco about this over a week ago and they told me it takes up to 7 business days for their service technician to call my dealer's service department back to try to resolve it. They also said they would put my call in as a "priority", and we still have not heard back from them.
Is this normal ???

Kid Safety
I'm new at family camping so bear with me.
Do kids tend to get more bumps & scrapes while camping than they do at home? The camaraderie seems to run very high between the kids at the campground and they run around in packs. I've run the whole gamut on safety lectures with them, and I know they don't want me up their backs all the time, nor do I want to be.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how they handle this? How much freedom do you give them, ... Thanks

I live in New York, and every summer we fly down to Asheville, NC to visit my folks. My kids and I (aged 5 & 7), always go to Jellystone Park in Marion, NC for the day to enjoy their monstrous water slide (check it out on the web). It's addicting for the adults, too. The owners welcome day-trippers for a nominal fee, and they have tent sites and cabin rentals, too, plus a fishing pond, play area, and a nice snack house. Plus a very nice pool and a kiddie pool. This year we want to rent one of their cabins overnight.
Also, Jellystone Woodridge outside of Ellenville, New York is a favorite of ours. They have a fantastic spray pool for the kiddies that's heated, an Olympic-sized pool, plus an amazing play park and lots of Yogi Bear activities for the kids. We rent a cabin there every summer, and they have nice wooded tent sites. You won't be disappointed, and the children will love it.

Hello,
Looking for some recommendations for a family trip to the east. We're going tent camping in June from Tucson AZ to Cleveland OH, and plan on spending about 11 days for the one-way trip. OUr return will be in July from the Adirondacks, NY back to Tucson, taking about 12 days.
Below I listed some places along our route we are considering visiting. We are flexible (but with the limited time, huge detours are not really possible)
We have two easygoing kids, 8 mos and 4yrs, and we are into outdoor activites.
I'm looking for recommendations in the following areas along the route:
*Nice campgrounds (again, we are tenting, and do not need electricity or even water. Prefer natural settings. Near a stream is the best!)
*Waterfalls to see
*Nice short hikes (1-3 hours)
*Vegetarian or healthy restaurants, cafes, etc.
*Scenic areas/parks/rivers
*Any other interesing things to do with the kids. The oldest is interested in everything, the youngest doesn't know any better yet!
These are some of the current areas we are considering visiting/driving through

Mesa Verde NP
Black Canyon NP
